Ship students gathered at the CUB last week for the Hershey Internship Workshop to learn about a new summer employment opportunity at the sweetest place on Earth. Shippensburg University has collaborated with Hershey Entertainment and Resorts to create the first ever Hersheypark Leadership Development Internship.

Created specifically for sophomores, juniors and seniors, the student-centered curriculum is designed to support and enhance the skills of any participant regardless of major. The classroom experience will develop a range of employability skills taught by expert faculty and leaders in the business and nonprofit sectors. Hershey Entertainment and Resorts leadership and managers will engage with students throughout the 12-week program, sharing how the weekly topics apply to their professional experiences.

“The Hershey internship program is a great opportunity for students because students will walk away with a certificate of leadership development as well as excellent experience. Students will also have the summer to meet peers from across the United States,” said Lorie Davis, executive director of the Career, Mentoring, and Professional Development Center.

Interns will also gain valuable hands-on experience in a variety of roles at Hersheypark, supporting departments like Rides and Attractions, Guest Experience, Food and Beverage, Games, and more. Shippensburg University worked to create the Hersheypark Leadership Development Internship for students seeking professional growth. Students who participate in this incredible opportunity can expect to attain skills applicable to any career they choose.
