May 22 marks a Day of Kindness in Pennsylvania, but at Shippensburg University kindness is more than a day, it’s the Raider Way. Each year the campus community records over 50,000 hours of service, spreading kindness and compassion as part of #ShipServes. While some members of the campus community have personal causes they champion, the university also offers volunteer opportunities through long-standing relationships with several service organizations in the region including:

  • Students raise money for Shippensburg Community Resource Coalition with car wash.
  • ROTC cadets spend a day in service at the Bolder Crest Veterans Retreat.
  • The 2020 Homecoming Court  raised over $10,000 for Shippensburg Produce Outreach.
  • Students prepare to head to the Gleaning Project to pick produce.
  • Ship's annual community Halloween fair is made possible by student volunteers and organizations.
  • Graduate students sort produce at Katie's Place in Shippensburg.
  • Students paint and clean around Shippensburg Station during Ship's annual day of service.
