The Shippensburg University community is invited to “A Town Hall Against Racism” at noon on Friday, July 10, via Zoom.

During the town hall, six speakers from the university will each discuss their views and hopes of anti-racism at Ship. Those attending the town hall are encouraged to provide recommendations and steps the university can take to educate and eradicate anti-Black racism in our community. Comments and questions can be shared through the chat function on Zoom, moderated by Professor Stephanie Jirard, chief diversity officer and Title IX coordinator.

The featured speakers include:

Dr. Jamonn Campbell, professor, psychology
Lucas Everidge ’20, senator, Student Government Association
Dr. Jayleen Garlaza, associate professor, social work
Lance Hines-Butts, vice president, Student Government Association
Diane Jefferson, director, Multicultural Student Affairs
Chief Michael Lee, Shippensburg University Police Department

We can confront the challenges we face when we do so together.
