Dear Students, Parents, Faculty and Staff,

We made it! We set sail together into uncharted waters this Fall, not knowing what to expect. Some said we couldn’t do it, shouldn’t do it, but we did. We learned what makes our campus community great, and in short, it is you.

We will forever remember this semester, and the grit, resolve and tenacity we had to summon. From adapting how we learn, to how we teach, we found that flexibility and adaptability was the wind in our sails. As we settle into our safe harbors at home for winter break, I urge you to take the commitments of your Raider Respect with you. It will help keep you and your family healthy, and ensure that we will emerge stronger, together.

Our mighty Ship is always here for you and we are actively preparing for the spring semester. Stay connected to Ship to stay up to date on the preparations that affect you. From our counseling and wellness services to the Etter Health Center, from our academic advisors to our success coaches, and from our student affairs staff to clubs and organizations, we are committed to providing you with a rich mosaic of services to make our reopening for the Spring semester as smooth sailing as possible.

We may not fully know what we will encounter as we sail forward, but we will not just be ready, we will be Ship Ready to overcome any challenges as we continue our course from coursework to career.

With my sincerest congratulations and admiration,
Laurie A. Carter
